ABOUT US

Meet Silk Syndicate...

... a Seattle band fronted by the vibrant, soulful, and charismatic, Tree Willard. Tree's voice carries a raw emotional intensity that resonates deeply with listeners while Silk Syndicate's lyrics weave innocently intricate, true tales of love, loss, and longing.

The band's sound is characterized by haunting, bouncing, beautiful melodies ripe with beegee-esque harmonies, creating an intimate atmosphere that pulls you into their world of barely-disguised, bittersweet song stories about the tenderness of relationships and the world we are creating together.

SILK SYNDICATE FANS SAY:

"Effervescent, whimsical, simultaneously serious, and playful."

"Each performance feels like a whispered, heartfelt conversation between friends, leaving an indelible mark on everyone who experiences their music."

Tree Willard

Tree was singing before they could walk. Their first paid gig was with the Saint Louis Opera Theater in middle school; their first leading role was in Fiddler on the Roof a few years later. They officially became a singer/songwriter in 2002 and never looked back. Best known in Seattle for their a cappella trio, Trillium, Tree has written more spirituals and protest songs than love songs until their songwriting collaboration with Scott Adams brought out the hopeless romantic in them. They consider corndogs the best vehicle for mustard and their closet is dominated by loungewear.

Scott Adams

Teaching as well as composing and performing, Scott has been a professional musician in Seattle for thirty years. Guitar was his first instrument and he plays it beautifully in Silk Syndicate. He has performed with a bunch of awesome people and his band, Birds May Bite has produced lots and lots of albums. His parties are always great because his friends are all amazing people who really like meeting each other.

Don Box

Don has played with ROBERT FRIPP!!! Because he's got it like that. Besides the Seattle Guitar Circle, he is also a proud member of the Tree is Making This Up Band. He is a calming influence with his laid back demeanor, just like a bassist should be. He drives a tiny convertible and has to put the top down to get his stand up bass in the front seat for gigs! LOL

Kai Strandskov

Kai is the sweetest drummer you'll ever meet. He makes everyone feel special with his warm smiles and heartfelt questions. He teaches Scott drums. He has sparkly clothes. He likes to sing in the rain in his underwear.
